10 for 10: Alumni and Friends run to celebrate program's anniversary.
On Sunday, May 2, 2010, Augustinian Volunteers' alumni and friends will
be running Philadelphia's Broad Street Run. We are running to celebrate
the first successful 10 years and to kick-off the next 10! The Broad
Street Run is the largest 10 miler in the USA held annually in
Philadelphia. Runners start in North Philly and run down Broad Street,
past City Hall and finishing at the Navy yard in South Philadelphia.
The Augustinian Volunteers, alumni and friends are hoping you will
consider sponsoring them on race day. We will be running in an effort to
support the ongoing work of the Volunteers throughout the United States
as well as in South Africa and Peru. Many of the agencies and schools we
work with do not have the funds necessary to be able to hire another
staff member and with your support of our runners, we will be better
able to serve these schools and agencies. We are hopeful for this to
become an annual event in which friends and volunteers can join together
to raise money to help sustain the wonderful work the AVs do day in and
day out.
Sponsoring an AV Runner is easy. Just click on the "Donate Now" link
below. You can also mail a check made out to the Augustinian Volunteers
to us at 214 Ashwood Road, Villanova, PA 19085. Let us know who'd you'd
like to sponsor in the memo. If you'd like to sponsor all the runners,
feel free to make a general donation for the Run. Don't forget to come
cheer your runner on if you are in the Philadelphia area on Sunday, May
2!
